Expanding our Exploration Footprint: Reynolds Range Lithium Joint Venture

SQM International Lithium (SQMi) has commenced its joint venture with iTech Minerals at the Reynolds Range Project in the Northern Territory, Australia, following consent from the Central Land Council.

Bringing global expertise to Australian exploration

SQMi will fund and manage all lithium exploration and development across the 791km2 project area. Our team brings world-leading knowledge in lithium discovery, project development and processing, applying this expertise to unlock the potential of one of Australia’s most prospective regions.

Expanding our footprint through partnerships

Under the farm-in agreement, we have acquired an initial 30% interest in the lithium mineral rights and will operate the project during the earn-in period. We have the option to increase our interest to 51% by investing AU$7 million in exploration in 4.5 years, and to 70% through additional exploration spend or by defining a JORC-compliant resource of at least 50Mt @1.0% Li2O.

The joint venture reflects our strategy to grow our exploration pipeline, diversify global supply chains and collaborate with local partners to advance resources that will enable the clean energy transition and create long-term value for stakeholders.

Looking ahead

We look forward to working closely with iTech Minerals as exploration activities progress, building the foundations for long-term success in the Northern Territory.
