Health & Safety

Protecting our people is our priority—every task, every site, every day.

Safety is one of our core values and shapes how we work every day

We are committed to creating a work environment where every person can perform their activities confidently, knowing their safety and wellbeing is protected and respected. We believe every task should be approached with care, diligence and a safety mindset.
Our approach is proactive and built on systems, culture and leadership. By building a culture of collaboration and accountability, we empower our teams to speak up, provide feedback and make informed decisions to ensure that safety is integrated into every aspect of our day-to-day work.

Our safety management system applies the globally recognised Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology of ISO45001 to systematically manage and enhance our health and safety practices. This system drives our efforts to identify hazards, implement effective controls, measure and monitor performance and continuously refine and improve our approach to keep people safe.
Our health and safety program is led by our top management team to ensure safety is always front of mind within the organisation. Our leadership extends beyond the company to include and influence that of our joint ventures, contractors and suppliers. Implementation of our safety management system including audits and training are used as tools to influence the health and safety performance of third parties.

Health and safety is more than physical protection. We also recognise the importance of psychological and emotional wellbeing in creating a truly safe workplace.

We manage psychosocial hazards – such as workload pressures, mental health challenges and workplace behaviours by implementing systems and processes and a number of initiatives, including:

  • Training and awareness.
  • Zero tolerance to bullying, discrimination and harassment and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Providing an employee assistance program (EAP) to enable confidential consultations with psychologists for employees and their families.
  • Internal grievance mechanism.
  • Training our people as mental health first aiders.
  • Company-wide psychosocial risk assessment.
